Millet

These Countryview grown annuals are one of the world’s oldest cultivated grains! Resembling maize or corn, varieties are typically selected for their attractive foliage. Best planted in full sun, the ornamental selections of millet are suitable for growing as vertical accent plants in containers or garden beds and borders during the fall. Fun fact- birds, including goldfinches and sparrows, will eat the seeds so you may want to leave the plants in place longer than most annuals!

Purple Fountain Grass
A deer-resistant annual grass, purple fountain grass is named for the arching spikes of purplish flowers and their signature long, slender, burgundy-colored leaves. Their soft texture compliments the rougher textures that define fall.
Ornamental Peppers
This outstanding ornamental plant has glossy green or purpple foliage depending on the variety and colorful fruit that stand in upright clusters at the end of the stems. The fruit comes in shades of red, purple, yellow, orange, black or white. The peppers change colors as they ripen, so you may see several different colors on the same plant. Often used as bedding plants in the garden or plant them in pots so you can enjoy them on sunny decks and patios. Ornamental peppers are generally safe to eat, but they are normally grown for their attractive color and ornamental qualities rather than their flavor, which you may find disappointing.
